Each Monday I will be featuring one of this year’s incoming freshmen so that Bruin fans can get to know a little about them before the pre-season training begins.
This week we are featuring level 10 gymnast, Emma Andres.
Andres hails from Rocklin, Calif. and trained at Byers Gymnastics Center in Roseville. Starting gymnastics at the age of four, she was coached by Rhonda Hawkins, Elisha Quinonez and Cassie Benning.
Andres began competing level 10 in 2015 and made it to the Women’s JO National Championships in 2019 where she placed 25th in the all-around with a score of 37.650.
Andres is capable of doing a Yurchenko full as well as a Yurchenko 1 1/2 on vault and is a great tumbler on floor. She is capable of doing a triple twist, a full in, and a front double.
